Government Middile School Resham Getalsud Angara Ranchi

Our school is tucked away at No 7 on 2nd Street in Adyar. It’s a bit of an interesting name, Government Middle School Resham Getalsud Angara Ranchi, but here we are in the heart of Chennai. The street is usually a bit cramped with parked scooters and people walking to the nearby shops. It’s a middle school, so we deal with kids who are just starting to grow up a bit. The building is an older one, typical of the Adyar area. We don't have a huge playground, but the children find ways to stay active during their lunch breaks. Teachers here are mostly local people who have been with the school for years. It’s a very down-to-earth place. We don’t go in for big advertisements or fancy signs. Most of our students come from the surrounding streets and neighborhoods. You can hear the lessons going on if you walk by the open windows. It’s a simple setup, just desks, boards, and a lot of books. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many kids around, it’s always a bit lived-in. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it pours, and we have to shuffle some chairs around, but it’s all part of the daily routine. It’s just a regular part of the Adyar community life where we focus on teaching the kids what they need to know next as they move through the middle grades.
