This school is located at Number 55 right on MTH Road in the Padi area of Chennai. It's a busy part of the city so there is always a lot of traffic noise coming from the street outside our gates. We have students coming from all around the neighborhood to finish their higher secondary years. The building itself is older and has seen many years of use, but it serves its purpose for the local community. Every morning we see the same faces walking in, some running late as usual because of the traffic. We have our standard classrooms and a small ground where the kids play or stand around during the lunch break. It gets very hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months, but we have enough trees around the yard to give some shade to the students. It isn't a fancy private school with air conditioning or modern facilities, but we do what we can with the resources we have. Most of the staff here have lived in Chennai for a long time so we know the local families and their backgrounds well. Sometimes parents drop by just to check on their children's progress or to talk about fees. We spend a lot of our time organizing books and making sure the attendance registers are up to date. Life here is pretty predictable and we follow the state syllabus. It’s a plain, honest place to learn. Nothing more and nothing less.
