Government Higher Secondary School Udaipura

You can find us over on Thayar Sahib Street, right off Mount Road. It is a very busy part of Chennai, so there is always something going on right outside our doors. The building is at number 76/25 and it has been part of this street for quite a while. We aren't a big campus with trees and fields, just a regular government school tucked into a narrow street. The classrooms are simple, and honestly, they get pretty warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the side of the building. We try to keep the windows open, but then you hear all the bikes and horns from the street. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the morning bell rings and everyone is rushing to get inside. Our desks are old and have names scratched into them from students who left years ago. We don't have much in the way of fancy equipment, but we have the basics for the kids to learn their subjects. The teachers have their own little corner where they keep their files and drink tea between classes. It feels like a real community here because everyone knows the shops nearby. We just go about our business day by day, making sure the registers are filled and the kids are actually in their seats. It’s just a normal, everyday school where we do our best with what we’ve got available to us. We’ve seen many groups of students pass through these halls and move on.
