Government Higher Secondary School Tikari

If you find yourself near the Lakshmi Vinayagar Temple in Tambaram West, you are basically right at our doorstep. We are at No. 3, and you can often hear the temple bells from the classrooms when things are quiet. It’s a Government Higher Secondary School, so it’s a busy place with a lot of energy. The students come from all over this part of Chennai, and they bring a lot of life to this little corner of the neighborhood. The building has been around for some time and shows its age in places, but it’s solid enough. We spend most of our time just keeping things moving along. There’s always some paperwork to do or a lesson to get through before the bell rings. The playground is a bit dusty, but the kids don't seem to mind when they're playing football or just sitting around talking during their break. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, but we have enough trees around the edge of the property to give some shade to the common areas. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. It’s a straightforward school where the goal is just to help the kids pass their classes and move on to whatever is next for them. It’s a community spot, really, where everyone knows each other’s names and the parents stop by to chat with the teachers on their way home.
