Government Higher Secondary School Sidhi

Our school is located inside Harris Arcade on Perambur Barracks Road. It's an interesting spot for a school, being in a commercial building like this in Vepery. We have the rooms set up as best as we can for the students who come from around the neighborhood. It gets quite noisy outside with all the traffic on the main road, but you get used to it after a while. The students don't seem to mind the city sounds too much when they are busy with their books. We’ve got some old wooden benches and the chalkboards are a bit worn down at the edges. It’s a plain place, nothing like those private schools with big playgrounds and air conditioning. We just focus on the daily lessons. Usually, the hallway gets a bit cramped during the lunch hour when everyone is trying to move around at once. Being at No 93, we are easy to find if you are walking down from the junction. Sometimes the lights flicker when the load is high, but we just carry on. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized with so many kids in a small space, but the staff here has been doing it for years. We just want the kids to finish their higher secondary years without too much trouble. It’s a practical environment, very local, and we just deal with things as they come up each morning. I think we’ve been here long enough that the building feels like a second home to many of us.
