Government Higher Secondary School Rajwans

Our school, Government Higher Secondary School Rajwans, is at No 1, Venkatanarayana Road. This is right in the middle of T Nagar, Chennai 600017. If you know T Nagar, you know how crowded and loud it gets with all the shoppers and the markets nearby. Our school sits right at the start of the road. It’s an old building that has seen a lot of students pass through over the years. We have a simple setup with rows of classrooms and a small area for the staff. Every morning the students come in from different parts of the city, many using the local buses that stop nearby. The teachers here have been working with the kids for a long time, and we mostly just focus on the daily lessons. There isn't anything fancy about the place. We have wooden benches that have been around for ages and blackboards that always need a good wipe. During the breaks, the kids go out into the yard, though it’s not very big. We spend a lot of time making sure everyone is keeping up with their studies, especially as the exams get closer. The noise from the traffic on Venkatanarayana Road is something we’ve all just gotten used to over the years. It’s a steady kind of life here. We open the gates in the morning and close them once the last student leaves in the afternoon. It’s just a local school doing its thing.
