Government Higher Secondary School Rahikwara

Government Higher Secondary School Rahikwara is located at No : 73, Anna Road. This is right on Mount Road in Chennai 600002, which is one of the busiest streets you’ll ever see. Being on such a major road means there is always a lot of traffic and sirens outside our windows. The school building is an older one, tucked in among the commercial shops and offices that fill up this part of the city. We have a lot of students who come from the surrounding city areas. Every day is pretty much the same routine. We start with the morning assembly in the small courtyard we have. Then it’s straight to the classrooms for lessons. Since we are a higher secondary school, the focus is really on the older kids getting through their final years. The teachers spend a lot of time at the chalkboards, and the students take plenty of notes. It can get very warm in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open, even if it means some dust from Mount Road comes in. We don't have any flashy signs or big marketing budgets. Most people find us because we’ve been here on Anna Road for decades. The office staff is always busy with admissions or checking attendance. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes because of the limited space, but we make it work. We just provide a place for kids to come and learn their subjects.
