Government Higher Secondary School Girls Sohagpur

Our school is tucked away in Thiruvanmiyur on 1st Seaward Road. The address used to be Old No 7D/1, but now it’s known as New No 24. It’s a girls' higher secondary school run by the government. Being so close to the sea is a bit of a mixed blessing because of the humidity, but the breeze is nice when the fans are running. The school isn't very large, but we have enough room for the girls who come from the nearby coastal areas. It’s a very lived-in building, with posters on the walls and the sound of chalk on boards. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that; we just have a small staff room where we drink tea and talk about the day’s plans. The area around here is mostly residential, so it’s relatively quiet except for the sounds of the city in the distance. We focus on the everyday things, like making sure the books are distributed and the exams are graded on time. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We don’t promise anything amazing, we just offer a place for students to come and learn their subjects. Most of the teachers have been here for years and know the local families well. It’s a bit rough around the edges, like any old building near the beach, but it serves the community well enough. It's just a school like any other in the area.
