Government Higher Secondary School Birhuli

We are over at No 10, Eshwari Flats on Kala Shethra Road. Thiruvanmiyur is a nice enough area of Chennai, and being near the road helps people find us. This is a government higher secondary school, so we handle the older students who are finishing up their final years. The space we have is what it is—it’s functional. We have the usual rows of benches and the blackboards that have seen better days. The teachers here are mostly busy with grading papers or preparing for the next set of state exams. It's a lot of pressure on the kids, so we just try to keep the environment as steady as possible. We don't have a big playground or anything like that, but we make it work with the space we have. You'll see the students hanging around the entrance before classes start. It's a very local atmosphere. Most of the people working here have been in the education system for a long time. We don't put on any airs about being a top-tier institution; we're just here to provide the basic schooling required by the state. It's a straightforward operation. We just show up, do the work, and hope the students pass their tests. That is the main thing we focus on every single day of the week. It keeps us quite busy.
