Government Higher Secondary School Barodiya Nonagir

Our school, Government Higher Secondary School Barodiya Nonagir, is over in Velacheri. You can find us at No-105, Srinivasan Nagar, right near the Murugu Nagar Extension. Velacheri is always busy these days, and our street is no different. The school is a big part of the local community here. We have a lot of kids coming in from the surrounding apartments and smaller houses. The building is a couple of stories high, and the stairs are always a bit worn down from all the climbing up and down. We have the basic classrooms with those big metal cupboards for all the records and files. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we have a full house, but we manage. The weather in Chennai can be tough, so the fans are always going full speed during the summer months. We don’t have anything like air conditioning or fancy carpets. It’s just stone floors and wooden desks. During the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy, but the kids don’t seem to care much when they are playing. We spend a lot of time on the paperwork and making sure the students are keeping up with their lessons. Most of the teachers live nearby, so we see the parents around the market too. It’s just a regular neighborhood school trying to get the job done every day without any fuss or complications.
