Government Higher Secondary School Bararu

Government Higher Secondary School Bararu is located at N0-1, Bharathiyar Street. We are just off Arunachalam Road in the Saligramam area. It’s a pretty lively spot to be in Chennai. The school is right there on the corner, and you can’t really miss it when the gates are open and the kids are milling about. It is a government-run place, so we focus on the basics. The building has been around for a good while, and it shows in some of the cracks in the plaster and the way the doors creak. We have the usual blackboards and the rows of benches that have been used by hundreds of students before. In the afternoons, the sun really beats down on the playground, which is mostly just hard-packed dirt. We spend our time going through the textbooks and making sure everyone is where they should be. It’s not a quiet place, especially with the traffic from Arunachalam Road nearby, but we’ve all learned to speak a bit louder to be heard. The local tea stall nearby is where a lot of the staff go during their breaks to get away from the noise for a minute. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech gear, just the old-fashioned way of teaching and learning. It’s a simple life here, and we just try to keep the school running smoothly for everyone in the neighborhood.
