Government Higher Secondary School Bamhori Bika

We are over in Virugambakkam, at Elango Nagar Annex. The address is No 13, but some people still remember it as Old No 71. This part of Chennai is always moving. The school is tucked away a bit from the loudest parts, but you can still hear the city all around us. It’s a government higher secondary school, so we deal with the older students mostly. The building has that typical look with the long corridors and the open courtyards. We have some trees in the back that provide a little bit of shade during the hot months. The classrooms are basic with fans that rattle a bit when they are on high speed. Students come in from all the nearby colonies like Valasaravakkam or Saligramam. During the rainy season, the streets around here can get a bit flooded, so sometimes things get messy. We don't have much of a front lawn, just the gate and the concrete. There is a small tea shop just outside where the staff goes sometimes. We’ve had generations of families come through these doors. It’s not a shiny new private school, it’s just a place for the local kids to get through their exams. The walls have plenty of charts and maps pinned up. We keep a simple schedule and follow the state board rules. It is just a normal, everyday school in the heart of a busy Chennai suburb.
