Government Higher Secondary School Baldeogarh Tikamgarh

Our school is over at No 15/12 on Dayalu Ammal Street in Choolaimedu. It is one of those tight streets in Chennai where everyone knows their neighbors. The school itself is quite old and you can tell by looking at the walls and the heavy doors. We don’t have a massive gate or a big sign, just the usual entrance where students gather in the morning. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with small rooms and narrow walkways. It gets really humid inside during the monsoon, and the smell of old paper is everywhere. We have some cupboards that are overflowing with old records and books that nobody has touched in years. The students sit on simple benches and use the same kind of notebooks we’ve always used. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, like fixing a broken chair or tidying up the entrance. It’s a very grounded place. We don’t talk much about goals or plans, we just make sure the teachers are in the rooms and the students are learning their lessons for the exams. The tea shop at the corner is where most of us go when we need a break from the noise. It’s just a regular part of life here in Choolaimedu, serving the families who have lived here for generations. Every day has its own small challenges, but we just take them one at a time.
