Government High School Nandani

Our school is situated at No 4, Green Fields Avenue, which is a fairly quiet part of Mugappair East. The road outside isn't too wide, so it gets a bit crowded when parents are dropping off their kids in the morning. The building itself is a standard government structure, nothing that really stands out if you are just driving past. We have a few trees in the front that give some shade during the peak summer months. Inside, the classrooms are filled with the usual wooden furniture and green boards. There is a small bell that hangs near the main office, and someone has to remember to ring it manually for every period. It is a bit old-fashioned that way. The children bring their own lunch boxes and sit in groups during the break time. We have a small area where they can run around, but it’s mostly just dirt and some patchy grass. The walls have some drawings on them that the students did a few years back. It’s not a fancy school by any means, but it serves the families living in this part of Chennai. We have our fair share of broken windows and leaky taps that need fixing every now and then. It is just a normal, everyday school where the teachers show up and do their jobs without much fuss. Everyone knows everyone else's name here because it is a small community.
