Government High School Bedi

Government High School Bedi is located at No 19/58 on Church Road in Perungudi. If you know the 600096 area, you know it’s a place with a lot of small streets and a lot of activity. Our school is just one of those places that’s been around, sitting on the corner and doing its job. The building isn't anything to look at from the outside, but inside it’s always full of the sound of lessons being taught. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with, like any government place, and the staff usually spends their mornings getting the registers in order. Church Road can get quite noisy with the traffic and the people heading to the local shops, but we just keep the doors shut and carry on. We have the standard classrooms with the usual wooden benches that have been used by many students over the years. When the monsoon hits, we have to be careful about the roof, but we manage to keep things dry. It’s a practical life here. We don’t have many resources, so we make sure to take care of what we do have. It’s about showing up every day and making sure the students get their time in front of the board. There is a sense of community because many of us have been working here for years and we know the families around. It is just regular work for us.
