Krishna Road in Perungalathur is usually quite busy in the mornings. You can see the Government Girls High School Namli right there at number 63. It’s been part of this neighborhood for a while now. The school gate is where everything starts every day. Girls from the nearby areas walk down the street with their bags, chatting before the first bell rings out across the yard. We mostly handle the standard high school classes here. The building itself is pretty simple, nothing fancy at all, just rows of classrooms and some open space for the kids to move around during their breaks. It is definitely not a quiet place during the day, which is how a school should be, I guess. The fans hum in the classrooms when it gets hot in Chennai, and you can hear teachers talking from the hallway. The local shops around here know our staff and students well. It’s just a regular, working part of the city in this corner of Perungalathur. We don’t bother with big fancy signs. People just know where we are because we’ve been at this address for years.
