Government Binoba Higher Secondary School

Our school, Government Binoba Higher Secondary School, is located at 81/47 Arcot Road in the Kodambakkam area of Chennai. Arcot Road is one of those streets that is always full of noise—buses, cars, and people going everywhere at once. Our gate is right there on the main road, so you can’t really miss it. The building is an older one, and it has that solid, heavy feel that schools used to have. We deal with higher secondary students here, so the place is always humming with energy. The classrooms have high ceilings and big windows, but even then, the Chennai humidity can be a lot to handle some days. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything like that; we just rely on the ceiling fans and the breeze if there is one. The teachers here are used to the roar of the traffic outside while they are trying to explain a lesson. It’s just part of the atmosphere. We have a small area where students can gather during their breaks, but it’s mostly about the work inside the rooms. We aren't trying to be a high-end academy; we are just a local government school serving the kids in this part of town. Every morning we open up the gates and every evening we lock them back up. It’s a steady, predictable rhythm that has been going on for years at 81/47 Arcot Road.
