Goverment School Haretanur

Goverment School Haretanur is located at No 141/72 on Ldg Road in Saidapet. Saidapet is a busy hub, and Ldg Road sees a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. Our school is a familiar landmark for the people living nearby. We have been at this address for a long time. The building is a sturdy one, though it shows its age in the cracks in the plaster and the way the wooden doors swell up when it rains. We have a decent number of students who come in from the surrounding lanes. The daily routine is pretty set in stone—assembly, classes, a lunch break, and then more classes until it’s time to head home at 4:00 PM. We have a few trees on the property that give some relief from the Chennai heat. The staff is a small group, and we’ve all worked together for quite a while now. We don't have computers in every room or anything like that. It’s mostly just chalk and talk. We spend our afternoons grading papers and talking about how to manage the bigger classes. The school office is always a bit of a mess with registers and government circulars piled up on the desks. It’s an honest place where everyone just tries to do their job without any grand promises. We are just here for the kids in Saidapet, making sure they learn what they need before the day is done and they go home to their families in the 600015 postal zone.
