Goverment High School Kalyanampoondi

Goverment High School Kalyanampoondi is found at No 9 on Thigappa Street in Kilpauk. Kilpauk is a well-known residential area in Chennai, and our street is tucked away a bit from the loudest parts. Being a government school, we have a lot of students from the local neighborhood who walk here every morning. The building is simple and has that typical look of a public institution. There is a lot of green paint on the walls and the windows are usually left wide open to catch the breeze. We don't have air conditioning, so the ceiling fans are always humming in the background. The staff room is a small space where we sit and talk about the day's lessons over lunch boxes brought from home. It's a busy place during the week. You can hear the sounds of children reciting their lessons or playing during their break. We have a small yard where they gather for assembly. The gate is a bit rusty and sometimes it squeaks when the watchman opens it at 8:00 AM. We don't have fancy equipment, but we have enough benches for everyone to sit and learn. It’s a place where kids come to learn their basics before they go off to bigger schools or start working. We just keep the routine going day after day, year after year, and we make sure the attendance is recorded properly for every student who comes through the gate to study in the 600010 district.
