Gouthami High School

Gouthami High School is based at No 48 and 50 on Kariappan Street in the Vepery area of Chennai. Since we are in the 600007 zip code, we are surrounded by a lot of other local landmarks and busy roads. The school itself occupies a couple of building numbers on this street, providing enough room for the older students who come here. It is a high school, so things are a bit more serious than a primary school, but the vibe is still very local and down-to-earth. We have been here for years, and many of the parents were actually students here themselves once. The building isn't anything modern or architecturally special; it’s just a solid place where people come to learn. We have different floors for different grades, and the hallways are usually filled with students moving between their classes. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. The teachers are mostly long-time residents of Chennai who speak the same way the families do. We don't put on any airs or try to act like a fancy private academy. It’s just Gouthami High School on a regular street in Vepery. We have the usual blackboards and some old labs that we use for the science lessons. Every day is pretty much the same—steady work and keeping the kids on track with their studies.
