Gousia Public School

Gousia Public School is sitting right there on the second floor of a building along West Koovum River Road in Chindatripet. If you know the Chennai 600002 area, you’ve probably walked past us a dozen times without thinking much of it. We have been here for a good while, serving the families who live in these busy streets. It is not a huge place with a lot of land, but we make the space work for the students. The second-floor location keeps us a bit away from the street noise, though you can still hear the city moving outside. Our rooms are filled with desks and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. Most of our staff live nearby, so they know the parents and the kids personally. It’s more of a neighborhood spot than anything else. We start early in the morning when the sun is just coming up over the river. The stairs get a bit crowded when the kids arrive, but everyone finds their way to class eventually. We don’t have fancy gadgets or a big cafeteria, just the basics for teaching. Usually, you’ll find the teachers marking papers or chatting with a parent at the door. It’s a practical environment. We just try to keep things moving along and make sure the kids have a place to sit and learn their lessons every day without too much fuss or trouble.
