Chttinad Vidyashram

If you head down Greenways Road in Rajah Annamalaipuram, you can’t really miss Chttinad Vidyashram. It’s tucked into the Chettinad House grounds, which gives it a bit of a different feel than your average school. There’s a lot of space, and the greenery makes it feel a bit cooler even when the Chennai heat is at its worst. We have a massive amount of students here, so there’s always a crowd. The buses line up in the mornings and afternoons, and it takes a bit of work to keep everything moving smoothly. Inside the gates, it’s a world of its own. There are different blocks for different ages, and you can hear music or sports practice happening almost any time of day. We don't try to make things sound more impressive than they are; it’s just a very large, very busy school. The corridors are always full of life, with students moving between labs and classrooms. The teachers have their hands full, but they keep things on track. We have some old traditions that we still follow, but mostly it’s about the daily grind of lessons and homework. It’s a well-known spot in this part of the city, and we just focus on keeping the routine going for all the families who send their children here year after year. It can get a bit loud during the breaks, but that is just how a big school works.
