Chintamani

Chintamani is situated right in the heart of Pondy Bazzar at New No.50. This is T Nagar, so it is probably one of the busiest spots you could find yourself in. We are on Thyagaraya Road, and the noise from the shoppers and the traffic is constant from morning until night. Our shop has been around this area for quite some time. It is a small space, packed with whatever we are selling at the moment. We don't have a lot of room to move around, so we have to be very organized with how we stack things. It’s not a fancy boutique with air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. Sometimes it gets quite warm inside, especially when the crowds are thick. We spend our days talking to people and helping them find what they need. There is no corporate script here. We just talk to folks like normal neighbors. Managing a shop in Pondy Bazzar is a lot of work because you never really get a quiet moment. We eat our lunch in the back room between customers. The floor is a bit worn down from all the walking, but we think it shows how much use the place gets. We are just a local business trying to stay afloat in a very competitive street. Being on Thyagaraya Road means we are right in the middle of everything, which is both good and exhausting. We just keep going every day and try to get things right.
