We have been at No. 20 Bharathinagar in Gerugembakkam for a while now. Most people around here just know us as the place where the sparks are always flying. It's not a fancy setup, just a solid building where we get down to the business of teaching and doing welding. My dad started tinkering with metal years ago, and it just kind of grew into this institute. We have some older machines and some newer ones too, mostly because you need to know how to handle both if you are going to make it in this trade. People come in from all over the neighborhood wanting to learn how to join two pieces of iron so they actually stay stuck together. It is hard work, honestly. Your back gets sore and the heat is something else in the summer, but there is a good feeling when a weld looks clean and holds tight. We spend our days showing folks the right way to hold the torch and how to keep their eyes safe. It isn't just about the tools, it is about the patience you need to not mess up a job. Usually, the shop is a bit messy with scraps and rods lying around, but we know where everything is. If you are looking for us, we are right there in Bharathinagar. We do not have a big receptionist or anything, just us working and teaching. It gets loud sometimes with the grinders going, but that is just how it is.
