If you are walking down Lambert Nagar in Alwarthirunagar, you will find us at No 56. We are right there in Virugambakkam, pretty close to the CSI Church. It is a familiar spot for most families who live in this part of Chennai. Our building isn't anything modern or glass-covered, just a sturdy place that has seen many batches of students come and go. We usually open the doors early to let the air in before it gets too hot outside. The rooms are basic, just what you need for studying without too many distractions around. Sometimes you can hear the church bells or the traffic from the main road, but mostly it is just the sound of pens moving and papers turning. We spent a lot of time arranging the desks so everyone has enough room. It is a bit of a walk from the bus stop but people don't seem to mind much. We have a small area where students leave their bags and cycles. It feels like a second home to some of us who spend all day here. We don't have a big team of managers, just a few of us making sure the classes happen on time. There are always piles of textbooks and old exam papers lying around on the side tables. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone arrives at once, but we manage just fine. Asir Thomas Educational Institute has just become part of the neighborhood.
