We The Crafts

Our little place, We The Crafts, is located right on Anna Salai in Thousand Lights. If you are standing in front of the Thousand Lights Mosque and look across the road, you will see us at number 654. It’s a busy spot with cars honking all day long. Inside, things are usually a bit cluttered with materials and finished bits and pieces. We spend most of our time making things by hand. It’s not a polished operation where everything is perfectly lined up on glass shelves. There is usually some glue or scraps of fabric or wood shavings on the floor because someone is always working on a project. We have been here for a bit now, and the neighbors know us as the people who are always tinkering with something. Sometimes people stop in just to see what we are making that day. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially with the sun hitting the front of the shop, but we have a small fan that keeps things moving. We don't really do big advertising or anything. People just find us because we are in such a central spot. We take our time with the work, even if it means things take a day or two longer than expected. It’s just how we do things here. The mosque across the street is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We just keep our heads down and keep making stuff.
