Velammal Vidhyashram

This school sits right on the Vandalur - Kelambakkam Main Road in Chengalpattu. Since we are on the main road, there is always a lot of traffic passing by. You can hear the trucks and buses even from the back classrooms sometimes. The campus is quite spread out and we have a lot of ground to cover. We spend a good part of the morning just getting everyone settled into their seats. The address is simple to find because everyone knows this stretch of road. We have a lot of windows to let in the air, which helps when the sun is strong in Chengalpattu. Our staff is usually busy with the daily schedule. There is no time for sitting around when you have hundreds of students to look after. We have the standard science labs and libraries that you expect to see in any school. Nothing is overly fancy, just practical stuff that gets used every single day. The playground gets a lot of use during the physical education periods. We have to keep an eye on the gates because of the busy road outside. It is a constant cycle of lessons, breaks, and exams. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a school on the main road helping kids get through their books so they can move on to the next thing.
