Hiranandani Upscale School

The school sits out here at No 5/63 on the Old Mahabalipuram Road. Most people just call it OMR. Kelambakkam is a bit further down from the main city buzz, so it feels a little different here. We have a lot of space because of the way the Hiranandani area is laid out. You can see the tall apartment buildings from the windows. In the mornings, the buses arrive one after another and the whole place gets noisy very fast. It’s a big building, so it takes a lot of walking to get from one end to the other. The staff mostly hangs out in the common areas during lunch. We have some trees around the edges of the property which is nice when it’s hot outside. The classrooms are just normal rooms with plenty of light. We don't spend much time making things look perfect for photos; we're usually too busy with the daily paperwork. Parents come by to talk about their kids or pick up forms. Sometimes the internet is slow or the printer acts up, but we deal with it. It’s just how things go. Being in Chennai, we’re used to the humidity, so everyone keeps their water bottles handy. We’ve been here for a bit, watching the area around Kelambakkam grow with more shops and traffic. It’s a steady kind of life at the school, nothing too crazy happens usually. We just keep the gates open and the lights on for everyone.
