Shree Niketan Matriculation Higher Secondary School

Our school sits at No 1, Siva Vishnu Koil Street in Tiruvallur. Being right on the temple street means it’s always lively around here. You can hear the temple bells in the morning when the first bell for class goes off. The building itself is quite old and has that specific smell of old paper and chalk dust. We’ve got students from all over the 602001 area. Most of them walk or come by cycle. It’s a matriculation school, so the syllabus is what it is, and we just try to get through the chapters every month. The benches in the older classrooms are a bit creaky, but they’ve held up for years. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations on the walls, just the usual maps and some charts the kids made for science class. The principal’s office is right by the main entrance, and there is usually a line of parents waiting to talk about something or other. We have a small yard where the kids gather for assembly. It gets crowded because there are a lot of students, but we make it work. Lunchtime is the loudest part of the day, with everyone opening their tiffin boxes at once. It’s just a busy, regular school where we focus on getting the kids to pass their exams and stay out of trouble.
