Ratnasagar Mahila Farmer Producercompany Limited

We are located over at House Number 1243 B in the Ganesh Wadi area of Shirgaon. This is right in the middle of Ratnagiri. Our group is made of local women who are into farming. We decided to call ourselves the Ratnasagar Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s not a fancy business with big offices and receptionists. It’s just us working together out of the house. We spend most of our mornings out in the fields tending to the crops. Ratnagiri is a beautiful place but the work is hard. We grow what we can and then we bring it all together to sell. We started this because it was getting difficult to handle everything alone. Now we can share the costs of seeds and tools. Sometimes we sit in the shade at Ganesh Wadi and just talk about the weather or the bugs in the plants. Our sentences aren't always perfect and we don't have a big marketing plan. We just want to make sure the ladies in Shirgaon can get a fair price for their hard work. You won't find any corporate talk here. We just deal with the dirt and the plants every day. The office is really just a room where we keep our registers and talk to each other. It’s a simple life and we are just trying to keep the farming going for our families in the village. It's a lot of manual work but we like being together.
