Ballarpur Farmers Producer Company Limited is located out in Kalmna. This is near Kothari in the Ballarpur region. Our office is set up at the home of Mrs. Shasikala Bawane. We don't have a shop in the main town because most of our work is done right here in the village. It is a very informal setup where people can just drop by and sit on the porch to talk. Shasikala keeps all the registers and the stamps for the company in a cupboard. It is a quiet area and you can usually hear the birds or the sound of the neighbors working in their fields nearby. We are quite far from the big city markets but we stay connected through our phones. The post office is nearby in Kalmna which is helpful for sending out our documents. We don't have any marketing materials or shiny brochures to show people. We just tell them what we are doing and how we can work together. Most of our meetings happen over a cup of chai in the afternoon. We started this company because the farmers in this part of Ballarpur needed a way to be more official. It is a small community and everyone knows where the Bawane house is. We don't need any big signs for people to find us. It is just a practical way for us to run a business without spending money on a fancy office.
