Gondpipari Shetkari Producer Company Limited is based in Chandrapur. You can find us at Ward No.3 in Babupeth, at the home of Shri Anirudha Dhonduji Wankar. We are a local group of farmers who decided to stop working in isolation. Chandrapur can be a very hot and dusty place, and the work on the land is never easy. We meet at Anirudha’s place to discuss our plans for the season. It’s a very simple setup—just some chairs, a table, and a lot of talk about the weather and the crops. We aren't a corporate entity with big goals written on the walls. We are just shetkari, which means farmers, trying to make a living. Sometimes the harvests are good, and sometimes they aren't, but having the company helps us stay together when things get tough. We don't have fancy ways of talking. We just speak plainly about what we need and how to get it. Most of our time is spent out in Gondpipari checking on the fields, and we only come to Babupeth to handle the necessary legal and business bits. It’s a slow process building something like this from the ground up, and we make plenty of mistakes along the way. But it’s our company, run by people who actually know what it's like to work the land every day, and we keep pushing forward despite the difficulties we face.
