Lakkadkot Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group, Lakkadkot Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based out of the Rajura area in Chandrapur. We use a space at Madhukar Maroti Madavilakkadkot's place. This is a mahila or women-led company, which means a lot of the local ladies are the ones making the decisions and doing the work. Chandrapur can get incredibly hot in the summer, so we usually try to get the bulk of the office work done early in the morning before the sun really hits. We don't have a big staff or a fancy marketing department. Most of what we do is just talking to each other and figuring out how to manage our crops better. Lakkadkot is a small place where news travels fast, so everyone knows where to find us if they have questions about the producer company. We focus on the practical stuff like getting seeds together or organizing transport for the harvest. It’s not always easy balancing the farm work with the company paperwork, but we manage somehow. Madhukar's place serves as our hub where the ledgers are kept and the meetings happen. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We might be sitting on the floor or around a small table, just trying to make sure the farming business is handled correctly. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just a group of local women working together to make things a little more stable for our families and neighbors.
