Gad-Vidarbha Farmer Producer Company Limited is located over in Armori, specifically at the Shakti Nagar area. Our office is set up at Virendra Madhukar Gumfawar’s place, House Number 2301. It is a busy little spot in Gadchiroli where we gather to talk about the fields and the crops. We are not some big business from the city. We are just a group of neighbors who realized that if we worked together, we might get better prices for our harvest. Gadchiroli has its own challenges with the weather and the roads, so being a group helps us a lot. The office usually has a few people coming in and out, checking on grain prices or asking about fertilizer. We keep our records in a few old cupboards and spend a lot of time on the phone. It is not a polished environment. There is often dust from the road and the sound of tractors passing by. We handle the logistics of getting the produce to the market, which is always a bit of a scramble. Sometimes the truck is late, or the rain starts just when we are loading. We just deal with it as it comes. We are mostly focused on paddy and whatever else grows well in this soil. It is hard work, and we are not getting rich, but it feels better to do it as a team.
