Down at Gut No 151/A on the Chakan-Talgaon Road, things stay pretty busy. We are Metalex Cryogenics Ltd, and our daily life revolves around heavy tanks and very cold temperatures. Chakan is a place that used to be mostly fields, but now it’s full of industrial sheds and trucks. Our spot is right in the middle of that growth. It’s not always the easiest place to get to, especially when the road gets muddy after a big rain. Inside our facility, we deal with things like liquid nitrogen containers and specialized metal work. It’s technical, but at its heart, it’s just hard manual labor mixed with some precision. We have a small office tucked away in the corner, but most of the action happens on the shop floor. You won’t see many people in suits here. We wear boots and heavy clothes because that’s what the job needs. The sound of welding and grinding is the background music to our day. We’ve been at this for a long time, so we know the quirks of the machinery. Sometimes things break and we have to spend the whole night fixing them. That’s just part of being in the manufacturing business in a place like Mahungale. We aren't interested in sounding bigger than we are. We just focus on the metal and the cold storage units we build. It’s steady work for a steady crew of local folks who show up and do their bit.
