Gurukripa Steel

Steel is a heavy business to be in, and we do it right from the Main Bazar Peth in Khed. Our shop is on the South Main Road in Lane V. It is a very active part of the town, especially when the market is in full swing. Working here means there is a lot of lifting and the constant sound of metal clanging against metal. We keep various types of steel rods and supplies piled up around the workspace. The floor is made of hard concrete and it stays pretty dusty from the street traffic and the materials we move. Koregaon Park is part of the address, but this part of the bazaar feels much more industrial and grounded. We spend most of our hours checking the inventory and helping load heavy items onto trucks or rickshaws. The sun gets really hot in the lane during the summer months, so we keep the big fans going all day. It is a very straightforward operation where we mostly deal with local builders and contractors who need supplies for their jobs. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy decorations on the walls, just stacks of steel and the tools needed to handle them. We know most of the other shop owners on the lane, and there is always someone walking by to say hello. The day ends with us pulling down the heavy iron gates and making sure everything is counted and ready for tomorrow.
