You can find us at Jhandewalan Extension in Swami Ramtirath Nagar, over at 2 E/3. The building is one of those standard commercial blocks you see around here. Steel Bird International is run out of an office that feels a bit lived-in. We have desks piled with files and catalogs from various manufacturers. It isn't a showroom; it is more of a place where the actual work of organizing and shipping happens. We spend a lot of time checking numbers and making sure the orders match what is leaving the warehouse. The air conditioning works okay most days, but when it’s really hot out, it struggles a bit. We have a small pantry for making tea and that’s usually where we congregate for a few minutes in the afternoon. The elevators in this building are sometimes slow, so we end up taking the stairs. We deal with a lot of heavy items, so there is usually some noise from the lifting equipment or the boxes being dragged across the floor. It is a busy atmosphere but not in a flashy way. We focus on the logistics of getting things from point A to point B. Most of the staff have been here for a long time, so we all know how the system works. It’s just a steady routine of paperwork, phone calls, and checking the stock levels every day.
