Mahavir Pipe Tube

Mahavir Pipe Tube is tucked away at 10578/48, right in Shankar Gali No 2. This part of Motia Khan in Paharganj is always loud and moving. If you’ve ever been to New Delhi-55, you know the vibe. It’s all about pipes and metal around here. Our shop is filled with various sizes of tubes, and there is always that smell of iron and dust in the air. It’s not the cleanest job, but it’s what we do. We spend most of the morning measuring things out and helping customers who wander in from the main road. Shankar Gali No 2 is narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, everything else has to stop. We’ve had some long days where we are still sorting through the stock well after the sun has set. The lighting inside isn't great, but we know where everything is by heart now. We don’t use any fancy computers to track every little thing; a lot of it is just written down in a big ledger we keep on the main counter. People come to us because we’ve been in Paharganj for a long time. It’s a family-style environment even if we aren’t all related. We drink a lot of chai to stay sharp. Sometimes the noise from the street gets to be a lot, but you get used to it after a week or two. It is just part of being in this neighborhood.
