Friends Steel Industries

Friends Steel Industries is tucked away in Gali No 13 of the Anand Parbat Industrial Area. Our specific spot is S 19. If you have ever been to Anand Parbat, you know the lanes are very narrow and always crowded with carts and workers. It is a real maze. We work with steel here, so there is a lot of clanging and banging throughout the day. The smell of hot metal is something you never really forget. Our space is packed with raw steel rods and sheets. There isn't much room to walk around, so you have to be careful where you step. We don't have a polished showroom. What you see is exactly what you get. We spend our days cutting, bending, and welding. It is tough work and it gets very hot near the machines, especially during the Delhi summers. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background to keep the mood light. Most of our business comes from people who have known us for years. They just drop by the gali and tell us what they need. We don't do fancy advertising. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been in this same spot doing the same thing for a long time. It is a gritty, busy place, but it is home to us. We just keep our heads down and get the metal cut to the right size for every order.
