Shippy'S Shoppy

Shippy'S Shoppy is our little place at 8895/14B in Shidipura. It’s a funny name, we know, but it’s what we’ve always been called. Karol Bagh is a crowded neighborhood and our street is no different. The shop is small and the shelves are usually packed with all sorts of things we’ve gathered over time. It’s not organized like those big department stores you see in the malls. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a bit of a mess to someone else. The front door is a bit heavy and it squeaks every time someone opens it. We haven't gotten around to oiling the hinges yet. There’s a small counter where we sit and the chair has a cushion that’s gone a bit flat. Outside, the lane is narrow and there are always scooters parked everywhere. You have to walk carefully to get to us. The walls are painted an off-white color that has turned a bit yellow over the years. We have a small radio that plays music in the background, mostly just to drown out the noise of the street. It’s a simple shop. We aren't trying to be anything fancy. We just open up in the morning, do our work, and close up when the sun goes down. Most of our visitors are people from the neighborhood who stop by for a chat while they are out doing their errands.
