Lal Dabha

Our place, Lal Dabha, is right on Kotla Road at B 3, near ITO. It’s a small setup, nothing like those fancy restaurants you see in the magazines. We mostly serve the people working in the nearby offices and the folks passing through. The stove stays hot from early morning until we close at night. We make a lot of dal and rotis, just simple food that fills you up. There are a few tables outside where people sit and eat while the traffic goes by. It gets dusty and noisy because of the location, but nobody seems to mind much. We’ve been here for years, and the walls could probably tell a lot of stories if they could talk. The kitchen is small and we’re always bumping into each other, but we have a system that works. We don't have a menu with a hundred things on it, just what we’re good at making. Some days it’s so busy we can barely keep up with the orders, and other days it’s quiet enough to sit down for a minute. We use basic ingredients and cook things the way we’ve always done. It’s just honest work. If you’re looking for something quick and hot to eat while you're near ITO, you’ll see our sign. We're just a local dhaba doing our best. Most people find us just by walking past on their way to work.
