You can find us at F-40 in Kirti Nagar. If you know Delhi, you know Kirti Nagar is the place for all things wood and furniture. At Sai Crafts, we are usually surrounded by various materials and tools. It’s a small shop and it’s usually quite messy with projects in different stages of completion. There’s a lot of sanding and painting going on, so there’s always a bit of a smell of varnish in the air. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most of the stuff is just piled up or sitting on workbenches. We spend our mornings talking to suppliers and the afternoons actually making things. The street outside is always full of trucks loading and unloading wood. It’s a noisy neighborhood, but it’s where all the action is. Our space is a bit cramped, especially when we have a big order to finish. We often have to move things out onto the pavement just to have room to move inside. The lights are a bit dim, but we know where everything is. We’ve been doing this for a long time at this same address. It’s just us and our tools, trying to make things that look decent. Sometimes we mess up and have to start over, but that’s just part of the craft. It’s honest work and we like being in the heart of the furniture market. We just take it one day at a time here at the workshop.
