Pottery Traders

Pottery Traders is tucked away on New Rohtak Road. If you know the Doriwalan area, you probably know how crowded it gets with all the shops and traffic. We’ve been at 18A/8 for quite some time now. Our space is filled with crates and boxes because we deal in all sorts of ceramic and pottery items. It’s a bit of a dusty job, to be honest. We spend a lot of time unpacking shipments and making sure nothing got cracked on the way. My father started this business years ago, and I just sort of took over when he got tired. We sell to small shops and sometimes individuals who just want a few nice pots for their garden. It’s a family thing, really. My cousin helps with the heavy lifting and my sister keeps the books. We don't do much marketing because word of mouth usually brings people in. The tea guy comes by twice a day, which is the highlight of the afternoon. We aren't trying to reinvent anything. We just sell clay goods that people need. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s home to us. Sometimes it’s hard to find parking on Rohtak Road, so we tell people to come early. We keep the doors open from ten till seven, unless it’s a holiday. It’s a simple life, but we enjoy the people we meet every day.
