Aster Crafts

Aster Crafts is tucked away at Flat-5, number 2110 on Fasil Road. We are right behind the Delhi Stock Exchange and near the old Turkman Gate. If you know this area, you know it is a maze of narrow lanes and old buildings. Our workshop is on an upper floor, so there are a lot of stairs to climb every day. It keeps us fit, I suppose. The space is filled with all sorts of materials and half-finished pieces. It is usually quite cluttered, but we have a system for where everything goes. The light isn't always the best, so we use some extra lamps when we are doing the detailed work. It is a noisy neighborhood with people shouting and bikes zooming past, but we find it helps us stay focused. We have been making things here for quite some time now. Most of our work is done by hand, using tools that have seen better days but still work perfectly fine. We do not have a fancy showroom for people to browse. Usually, people just come to the door if they need something specific. It is a bit dusty because of all the materials we use, but that is just the nature of the craft. We take breaks when we can and usually send someone out for snacks from the vendors near the gate. It is a busy, cramped, and honest way to make a living in the city.
