Our office is situated at 7A/42 in the WEA area, inside the Western Chamber building. It’s an old building with a lot of history and stairs that creak a bit when you walk up. We do export work, mostly dealing with moving goods from one place to another. There is always a stack of ledgers on the main table near the window. We don't have a fancy reception area. When you walk in, you’ll probably see someone on the phone or typing away at a keyboard. It gets a bit hectic when we have deadlines for shipping containers. The Western Chamber is a busy place with lots of other offices around us. We hear the noise from the hallway all day long. Our team is small and we’ve worked together for a long time. We know how each other takes their tea and who is responsible for what. We don’t spend money on expensive furniture because we’d rather just focus on the logistics of the job. The lighting in the back room is a little dim, so we use desk lamps to see better. It feels like a traditional office. We deal with suppliers and buyers, trying to make sure the numbers match up at the end of the month. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on.
