Jaswant Saree

Our shop is at 2590/4 in Beadon Pura. It’s a place where we spend most of our daylight hours surrounded by sarees of every possible color. The space isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we display everything. We spend a lot of time unfolding and then carefully refolding the fabric so it doesn't get ruined. It’s a bit of a skill, honestly, getting those pleats just right. The floor is covered in white sheets so the clothes stay clean when we show them to people. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just some low stools and the counters. Sometimes the street outside gets so loud with the traffic and the vendors that we have to shout a little. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit when it's on high, but it keeps the air moving. Lunch is usually something we bring from home and eat quickly in the corner while taking turns watching the door. We know most of the people on this block, so there's always someone popping their head in to say hello. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't have a website or anything like that, just this physical spot where we show up every morning. It’s a lot of hard work on your feet all day, but we are used to it by now in Beadon Pura.
