Shagoon Emporium

Shagoon Emporium sits at 2320-21 on Arya Samaj Road in Karol Bagh. It is a hectic spot, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping for clothes or household stuff. We have two units joined together, which gives us a bit more room to breathe, but it still gets crowded when we have a lot of stock coming in. The street outside is always full of people looking for deals, and we are right in the thick of it. Inside, it is mostly shelves and racks. We don't have fancy lighting or a lounge area. It is just a shop where we sell what we have. Most of the time, we are busy folding things or helping someone find a specific size or color. The air conditioner works most of the time, but when the door stays open too long, it gets warm. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers on the block. It is a typical Karol Bagh business—no frills, just honest work. We don't have a big corporate structure. It is usually just the owner and a few helpers keeping things running. Sometimes the displays get a bit messy because people are always touching things, but we try to tidy up before we close for the night. It is a lot of standing and talking, but that is just how it goes in this line of work.
