Durga Creations

Durga Creations is tucked away at House No. 1352 in Chowk Sangatrasha, right in the heart of Pahar Ganj. This area is always full of people, cows, and rickshaws, so it is never quiet. Our workspace is a small room on the ground floor of an old building. We have several sewing machines that take up most of the room. There are bags of fabric and rolls of thread stacked against the walls. It is a bit of a squeeze to walk through the room when we have a lot of work. The lighting is not great, so we use some bright bulbs over the machines. We spend all day cutting and stitching. It gets very dusty from the fabric lint, and we are constantly sweeping the floor. We do not have a sign outside that you can see from far away. You just have to know which door it is in the alleyway. We usually have a pot of tea going in the corner and we take breaks when we can. It is a busy place and we are always trying to finish something. We do not have a fancy office or a place for people to sit and wait. It is just a workshop where we get things made. We have been in Pahar Ganj for a long time and we are used to the fast pace and the crowded streets.
