Handloom Only

Our place, Handloom Only, is inside Panna Bhavan-2 on Ansari Road in Darya Ganj. This part of the city has a lot of history, and you can feel it in the old buildings and the narrow streets around us. We keep things very basic here. The rooms are usually filled with the smell of fresh cotton and the different fabrics we have in stock. Because we deal with hand-woven items, it is much quieter inside our building than it is out on the noisy Ansari Road. We spend most of our time sorting through cloth and talking to the people who come in to see what we have. There isn't any big management team or fancy structure here. It is just a few of us who have been working with textiles for a long time. The walls of Panna Bhavan are thick and old, which is nice because it stays a bit cooler during the hot months. We do not spend money on advertising or big displays. Most of our fabric is just stacked on wooden shelves or laid out on tables where people can touch it. We have many regular visitors who have been coming to us for years because they know where we are and what we do. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it hard for us to get our deliveries on time, but we just take it as it comes. It is a slow rhythm of work, and we are quite content with it.
