Our place is at 127 in the Anarkali Complex, which is part of the Jhandewalan Extension. It is a very industrial area and the complex is always full of people moving heavy metal pipes and pneumatic parts. Our unit is just like the others around us, filled with the sound of metal clanging and people shouting over the noise of the market. We trade in metals and various pneumatic components, so we spend a lot of time weighing things on the big scale out front. Our clothes are usually a bit dirty from the grease and the dust, but that is just part of working with metal. The office is just a tiny corner with a desk and a couple of old chairs where we sit to have our lunch or write out the bills. We don't have any polished brochures or a corporate office feel. It is a very practical, old-school way of doing business where a lot of things are still done with a handshake and a simple receipt. The summers here are incredibly hot because of all the metal around us, but we just keep the fans on and drink plenty of water. We have been part of this market for a long time and we understand the ups and downs of the trade. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see what the day brings us.
